Milos Raonic made it through to the second round of the French Open with a four-sets victory over Xavier Malisse this morning.
The Canadian, seeded 14 this year, converted the first break point of the match in the sixth game to move 4-2 ahead and then went on to take the first set 6-2.
His dominance continued in the second as he moved 5-0 ahead before Malisse got one on the board but could not stage a fightback on Court 1 at Roland Garros.
Raonic took the set 6-1 in just 23 minutes but Malisse rallied in the third, taking a 6-4 win to force the match into a fourth set.
However, Raonic was able to dig deep, securing an early break to take the set 6-4 and progress into the next round.
Raonic will now face either Steve Darcis or Michael Llodra in the second round in Paris.
