Andy Murray has suffered a straight-sets defeat against youngster Borna Coric at the quarter-final stage of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships this afternoon.
The British number one, who made it to the final of the Australian Open last month, struggled throughout and was eased out 6-1 6-3 in the United Arab Emirates.
Murray was broken twice in the opening set with his Croatian opponent, ranked 84th in the world, needing just 35 minutes to race ahead.
Things did not get much better in the second, either, as Murray, producing 55 unforced errors across the match, lost the only break of serve in the sixth game to fall to a resounding defeat against the US Open junior champion.
Coric will now face either Richard Gasquet or Roger Federer in the final four of the tournament.
