British number three Laura Robson has beaten American Samantha Crawford in straight sets to reach to the second round of the US Open.
The 18-year-old Olympic silver medallist broke her opponent's serve twice to take the opening set 6-3 on Court Four.
She then came out on top in a gruelling tie-break, which she won 8-6, at the end of an ultra-tight second set.
Next up for Robson is a match against three-time champion Kim Clijsters, who plans to retire following the tournament.
