Victoria Azarenka has announced that she will play no part in the Rogers Cup due to a back injury.
The world number three has decided against competing in Toronto after getting beaten 6-2 6-3 by Samantha Stosur in the Californian Open final on Sunday.
"I'm so disappointed that I can't make it to Toronto as I know what an important event it is," Azarenka said via the tournament's official website.
"I am sorry to all my Canadian fans and I will work hard to get healthy and back on the courts as soon as possible."
On the men's side, former world number one Roger Federer has also withdrawn from the competition due to injury.
