Li Na has booked her place in the semi-finals of the Rogers Cup in Toronto with a straight-sets win over Dominika Cibulkova this evening.
The two players were well-matched in the first set, each breaking serve once as neither looked strong during their own service games.
However, the Chinese player found her form towards the end of the set before dominating the tie-break, allowing her opponent to take just one point in the decider.
Cibulkova upped her game in the second as she tried to get herself back into the match, but the fourth seed was near-flawless on serve, smashing three aces past the Slovakian before securing a break early in the set.
At 5-2 down, the 24-year-old was serving to keep the match alive, but some solid returning from Li saw her wrap up the quarter-final.
She will face either Petra Kvitova or Sorana Cirstea in the last four.
