Fifth seed Janko Tipsarevic has made it into the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup in Toronto thanks to a straight-sets win over 10th seed Marin Cilic.
The Serbian broke serve twice in the opening set, which he went on to win 6-2.
Tipsarevic then saved three break points midway through the second before earning the decisive break that gave him the set 6-4.
He will now face Jeremy Chardy or Marcel Granollers for a spot in the last eight of the tournament.
