Simona Halep has registered a comfortable win over Jelena Jankovic to secure her place in the last 16 of the Rogers Cup.
The second seed needed 81 minutes to seal the win, but she rarely looked in trouble during her 6-3 6-4 success.
Each of their four previous meetings had gone the distance, but Halep soon showed that she had every intention of ensuring that she made quick work of her Serbian opponent.
Halep created five break-point chances in the first set, taking one to move ahead while another solitary break of serve was enough in the second.
The Romanian landed with 78% of the first serves throughout the contest, leaving Jankovic with little chance of getting back into the match as Halep eased through to the third round.
