Mikhail Youzhny has finally ended his losing streak with an impressive win over Viktor Troicki in the Rogers Cup first round.
Ahead of the Masters Series event in Montreal, the Russian had not won an ATP Tour match since the Geneva Open in May, but he finally found some form to get the better of world number 19 Troicki.
The 33-year-old, who has fallen down to 107 in the ATP standings, broke twice on the way to taking the opening set and he looked on course for a routine win by striking again at the start of the second.
Troicki improved to level the match at 5-5, but Youzhny reeled off two successive games to reach the last 32.
