Novak Djokovic has claimed that it is "important" for him to reach another final after beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters.
The Serbian world number two edged closer to successfully defending his title on Saturday thanks to a 6-2 7-5 triumph over the Frenchman.
"It's important for me to get into another final," Djokovic is quoted as saying by the ATP's official website.
"[My serving] was very controlled, very efficient. I was trying to open up the court and move him around. I know he likes to have targets, he likes to play from the backhand corners so I tried not to let him into that comfort zone."
Djokovic will face either Rafael Nadal or Juan Martin del Potro in Sunday's final.
