Roberto Bautista-Agut has progressed to the second round of the Shanghai Masters courtesy of a 6-4 6-4 victory over Alexandr Dolgopolov.
However, it was the Spaniard who lost serve in the first set as Dolgopolov took an early advantage, but Bautista-Agut broke back almost immediately to level at 4-4.
That left the Ukrainian serving to stay in the first set, but despite going 30-0 up, he couldn't hold his nerve as the world number 17 went ahead.
It was a similar story in the second, as both players held their serve throughout before Dolgopolov lost serve once again in the decisive game as Bautista-Agut progressed.
