Andy Murray has reached the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters after cruising to a 6-1 6-3 win over Tomas Berdych in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Murray took an early lead when the Czech dropped serve in the third game of the match, allowing the Scot to wrap up six games in a row, clinching the opening set while facing just two break points.
The world number two continued to dominate the match as he raced to a 3-0 lead in the second set with Berdych struggling to get his first serve in, having missed a chance to break in the first game of the set.
It looked like things were going to get worse for Berdych when he faced a break point while trailing 4-1, but the world number five started to find some consistency to keep himself in the match.
Murray wasted no time on his own serve though, securing a comfortable hold to leave himself just a game short of a spot in the last four, following it up with another solid service game to race into the semis after less than 90 minutes on court.
The Briton will face world number one Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.
