Andy Murray has received an easy passage through to the third round of the Shanghai Masters after his opponent Florian Mayer withdrew from their match through injury.
Murray and Mayer were due on court later on Wednesday but the latter has withdrawn from their encounter with a rib injury.
The US Open champion will now play either Gilles Simon or Alexandr Dolgopolov for a place in the quarter-finals.
Murray has won the Shanghai Masters for the past two years.
