Manchester United are sweating over the fitness of Mason Mount and Noussair Mazraoui ahead of Thursday's EFL Cup quarter-final trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
Both players were forced off in Sunday's dramatic 2-1 comeback win over rivals Manchester City in the Premier League, and while Mount (leg) is expected to miss out, Mazraoui (knock) will be assessed ahead of kickoff.
Luke Shaw remains in the treatment room as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury, while fellow defender Jonny Evans has missed Man United's last six games with an unspecified issue and remains a doubt.
Ruben Amorim has regularly rotated his Red Devils team amidst the club's busy fixture schedule and he may decide to pick one of, or both, of Leny Yoro and Victor Lindelof in defence, which would subsequently see either Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire or Lisandro Martinez make way.
Tyrell Malacia will be pushing for a recall at left wing-back, while the potential absence of Mazraoui could see either Diogo Dalot, Antony or Amad Diallo operate at right wing-back.
Diallo was a standout performer in an advanced role in the Manchester derby, scoring a 90th-minute match-winner, and he may retain his place further forward, while Amorim has a big decision to make over whether to recall Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho to his matchday squad following their omission last weekend.
Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro are in contention to return in midfield at the expense of Manuel Ugarte and the injured Mount, while Bruno Fernandes could be deployed in the front three next to either Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee up front.
Manchester United possible starting lineup: Onana; Yoro, Maguire, Martinez; Dalot, Mainoo, Casemiro, Malacia; Diallo, Fernandes; Zirkzee
