US Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka has knocked out Britain's Kyle Edmund in the second round of the Shanghai Masters.
The 31-year-old - a former Australian Open and French Open champion - sealed a 6-3 6-4 victory in just over one hour.
Both players were strong on serve in the first seven games of the opening set, but it was Wawrinka who grabbed the first break point of the match.
After taking a one-set lead, the Swiss pro snatched serve at the first time of asking, but Edmund broke back to put the set level on 2-2.
The pair were well matched in the next four games until Wawrinka nabbed another break point before successfully serving for the match.
