Spain's David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez have made it through to the second round of the men's Olympic doubles with a hard-fought victory over Polish fourth seeds Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski.
With neither team dropping serve in the opening set, the Spanish duo edged the tie-break 9-7.
It was more of the same in the second as both teams held to force another tie-break. However, this time it was the Poles who won it 8-6 to take the match into a decisive third set.
Ferrer and Lopez managed to break their opponents' serve late on to see out the match 8-6 in two hours and 38 minutes.
