Andy Murray and Heather Watson have been eliminated from the mixed doubles competition in Rio de Janeiro at the quarter-final stage.
The Team GB pair entered the competition with 45 minutes' notice on Thursday after Romania's Florin Mergea and Monica Niculescu decided to pull out.
They secured a place in the next round courtesy of a 6-3 6-3 defeat of Spain's David Ferrer and Carla Suarez Navarro but were undone in straight sets themselves in the next round on Friday, losing 6-4 6-4 to Indian fourth seeds Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna.
Murray, who won silver in the event with Laura Robson in 2012, had earlier secured his place in the semi-finals of the men's singles by defeating American Steve Johnson.
The Scot will now face Kei Nishikori for a place in the final, while the other semi-final will see Rafael Nadal take on Juan Martin del Potro.
