Former British number one Tim Henman believes that it was the right time for Andy Murray to clinch his first Grand Slam title.
The 25-year-old Scotsman snatched the US Open trophy in a thrilling five-set win over Novak Djokovic at Flushing Meadows last night.
"It was certainly his time," Henman told BBC Sport. "The most important aspects were his resilience, both mentally and physically. He remained calm and was able to produce the goods and really it was Djokovic who was struggling at the end."
Murray's US Open victory comes after the Scotsman picked up a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games after defeating Roger Federer at Wimbledon.
