Andy Murray has described his US Open second-round match against Adrian Mannarino as "extremely tough".
The Frenchman took a shock two-set lead but Murray bounced back to win 5-7 4-6 6-1 6-3 6-1.
"He was hitting the ball very well, very flat, and pushing me back to the baseline. I didn't win enough break points but I just managed to fight through," Murray told Sky Sports News.
"The beginning of the fourth set was extremely tough physically, with a lot of running and some long games but I managed to get through."
The world number three will play against Thomaz Bellucci in the third round.
