Andy Murray has admitted that his US Open semi-final clash against Rafael Nadal will be "a close, close matchup".
The Scot faces Nadal after seeing off John Isner in four sets yesterday.
While the world number two has more frequently come out on top in their previous meetings, most recently at this year's Wimbledon semi-finals, Murray thinks that the court will work in his favour.
"Well, I've beat him before in the semis; I won against him also at the Australian Open," he said. "And when I've won against him, it's always been on hard courts. It's a good surface for me to play him on.
"Obviously at the French I would go into that match not being a favourite, then Wimbledon I've got a chance, but his record has been great there. I think on the American hard courts I think it's a close, close matchup."
Murray and Nadal will battle for a place in the finals in the Arthur Ashe Stadium this evening.
