Serena Williams reserved praise for Caroline Wozniacki after claiming a "wonderful" victory in the US Open final on Sunday night.
It was typically dominant display from the American as she recorded a 6-3 6-3 win over her Danish rival, but she was quick to pay tribute to Wozniacki, whose search for a maiden Grand Slam success goes on.
"It was a really wonderful feeling," Williams admitted shortly after the victory was secured. "It was a wonderful finish.
"I would like to say congrats to Caroline, she is such a great person and I really am so happy for her. I know you will be winning very soon."
Williams has now won six US Open titles and tasted success in 18 Grand Slams.
