Anna Tatishvili booked her place in the second round of the US Open with a dominant 6-2 6-1 victory over Karolina Pliskova at Flushing Meadows.
Despite reaching number eight in the world rankings this year, Pliskova has struggled for form in recent weeks and that showed as she was overpowered by the world number 121 in the opening set.
Pliskova won just one point on her second serve as Tatishvili broke three times to move ahead, before she established a 3-0 lead at the start of the second set.
The 25-year-old then broke her opponent once again in the fourth game, before comfortably holding her serve to see out the match and ease into the next round.
