Petra Kvitova has eased past Anna Karolina Schmiedlova to secure her place in the last 16 of the US Open.
The fifth seed required just 65 minutes to register a 6-2 6-1 victory over her Slovakian opponent.
Kvitova has begun the tournament well, picking up back-to-back wins in straight sets against Laura Siegemund and Nicole Gibbs, and she wasted little time in imposing herself against Schmiedlova, who had her serve broken twice during a one-sided first set.
Schmiedlova, the 32nd seed, took the opening game of the second, but that was as good as it got for the 20-year-old, who saw Kvitova reel off six straight games to confirm her spot in the fourth round.
The two-time Wimbledon winner will now play either Andrea Petkovic or Johanna Konta for a place in the quarter-finals.
