Novak Djokovic has coasted into the third round of the US Open after thumping Paul-Henri Mathieu in straight sets.
The Serbian barely broke sweat as he downed his French counterpart 6-1 6-3 6-0 in just under 90 minutes at Flushing Meadows tonight.
The world number one lived up to his billing by producing a ruthless display in the first set, breaking Mathieu on three occasions to take a one-set lead within half an hour.
Djokovic took a big step toward the win in the sixth game of the second set, pulling out a timely break of serve to move 4-2 ahead, before ultimately winning by a three-game margin.
It took just 22 minutes to snatch the third set as Djokovic whitewashed Mathieu to advance into the next stage.
