Maria Sharapova has blasted her way into the fourth round of the US Open following a comprehensive straight-sets victory over Mallory Burdette at Flushing Meadows.
The third seed broke her American opponent three times in the opening set to win 6-1 in 29 minutes.
The Russian, who won the tournament back in 2006, then came through with the same scoreline in the second to wrap up the match in under an hour.
Waiting for the French Open champion in the last 16 is either Nadia Petrova or Lucie Safarova.
