Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole's live text coverage of the eighth day of the 126th Wimbledon Championships.

We're now well into the second week and have a great lineup on what is traditionally ladies' quarter-final day.

Because of the persistent rain yesterday we also have five men's fourth-round clashes, including Andy Murray's ongoing game with Marin Cilic.

Follow ALL the action with us below.

22.08So that's it from me for tonight. Be sure to join Sports Mole tomorrow for live text coverage of the men's last-eight ties. Thanks for joining us today!

22.03We also witnessed the completion of the men's last-16 matches that fell victim to the weather yesterday. Britain's hopes remain intact after Andy Murray cruised past Marin Cilic, Philipp Kohlschreiber ended Brian Baker's remarkable Wimbledon run, Florian Mayer surprised Richard Gasquet and David Ferrer thrashed Juan Martin del Potro.

21.48GAME, SET AND MATCH: Radwanska 7-5 4-6 7-5 Radwanska shakes off losing the first point to hold and move into the last four, where she'll face Angelqiue Kerber after the eighth seed beat her German compatriot Sabine Lisicki earlier today.

21.45Break! If any point deserves to contribute to a break of serve it was that one described below. A couple of unforced errors from Kirilenko help Radwanska break to love and the third seed will now serve for the match...

21.44Superb from Radwanska! She appears to be out of the point as Kirilenko lines up a smash but she anticipates where the Russian intends to hit the ball and, not content with just returning it, fires back a cross-court passing shot of the highest quality. The best point of the day for me.

21.43More stubborn defence from Radwanska as she levels at five games apiece.

21.42Kirilenko wastes no time feeling sorry for herself as she fires in a superb forehand winner down the line to force the Pole to deuce.

21.40Radwanska holds her hand up apologetically as she gets a fortunate bounce off the net to set up game point.

21.36The Pole follows that up with a long forehand to gift Kirilenko the game. Radwanska serving to stay in it...

21.34Slight signs of rustiness from Radwanskwa as she somehow sends an easy smash into the net.

21.31Here we go then...nine hours after the match started...

21.27The two players will have five minutes to re-warm up before play resumes with Kirilenko 15-0 up on serve...

21.25The third set in this one stands at 4-4, with Radwanska having taken the first set 7-5 before Kirilenko responded to edge the second 6-4.

21.23The Centre Court crowd were delighted to hear that news, and they are about to welcome the players...

21.20Wo, wo, wo, don't go anywhere just yet! Wimbledon officials have just announced that the quarter-final match between Agnieszka Radwanska and Maria Kirilenko will conclude under the roof on Centre Court tonight after rain had earlier seen play suspended on Court One.

21.18GAME, SET AND MATCH: Azarenka 7-5 7-6[4] Paszek The world number two won't be denied a second time as Paszek hits long. Azarenka books her spot in the last four, where she will play tournament favourite Serena Williams.

21.17Superb backhand slice and cross-court backhand combination from Paszek denies Azarenka on her first attempt...

21.17For the third time, Azarenka has the opportunity to serve for the match as Paszek sends a backhand long. First of three match points coming up...

21.16The Austrian finds the net in successive points and the number two seed now has a two-point lead at 5-3.

21.15Paszek strikes her return into the net as Azarenka moves ahead in the tiebreak for the first time.

21.14Superb volley from Azarenka levels the breaker at 3-3 after Paszek had claimed an early advantage against the serve.

21.10Break! Deja Vu! The Austrian takes the second of her break points as Azarenka hits long following her strong return. This second set, and possibly the match will be decided by a tiebreak.

21.09Not again surely? Another double fault from Azarenka allows Paszek two break points.

21.06Break! And the pressure pays dividends as she sends Paszek wide before converting a simple smash. Azarenka now has a second chance at serving for the match.

21.04Azarenka puts the pressure straight back on Paszek as she forces her to deuce.

21.00Break! What inspired timing. For the first time, Paszek records what was a necessary break which was secured by an Azarenka double fault. The Belarusian will be livid.

20.57Paszek has yet to break the world number two, or even have a break point opportunity. If she can't change that, she is facing a quarter-final exit.

20.54Break! After she performed so well on serve throughout the match, Paszek will be so frustrated with what has just transpired. A nightmare game gifts Azarenka a break to love and the Pole will now serve for the match and a place in the Wimbledon semi-finals.

20.51Azarenka commits her first double fault, but it doesn't stop her winning the game to level at four games apiece. Big game coming up...

20.47Despite being a clear underdog, Paszek is playing with confidence and has looked assured on serve in this second set. Another excellent hold puts her 4-3 ahead. If she can put some pressure on the Azarenka serve, she may still have a chance of taking this one all the way.

20.45Unlike the Kerber versus Lisicki contest from earlier, where there were breaks aplenty, this second set continues to go with serve. Azarenka wraps up this hold with a superb passing shot, followed by an ace.

20.41We remain on serve here as Paszek replies with a comfortable hold of her own.

20.38Azarenka records another hold to level at two games apiece. The Belarusian is yet to face a break point in this contest.

20.34However, the Eastbourne champion stays composed to fire down an ace and a backhand winner to hold and move 2-1 ahead in the second.

20.32Paszek is putting up a stubborn resistance here and after saving break point, she is denied a hold only by an unfortunate bounce off the net.

20.28More excellent play from Azarenka as she twice reaps the rewards of attacking Paszek's weak serve. The second return winner sets up break point...

20.23Great stuff from Azarenka as she shows she really is a complete player. From 15-30, she produces winners from both the back-court and the net to produce a stubborn hold.

20.18However, the unseeded Austrian responds well to going a set down by holding to 15 in the first game of the second.

20.14SET! Azarenka 6-3 Paszek Azarenka, who has served superbly throughout the opening set, secures the advantage in this quarter-final by holding to love. Long way back now for Paszek.

20.12Until now. And in fairness, she is partly gifted the break as Paszek hits a backhand down the line wide. The Austrian will be frustrated that an unforced error cost her after she had battled so hard to hold.

20.10This game is proving to be a near replica of the fourth game, which had six deuces. We are on three at the moment with Azarenka unable to find what could be a crucial break as of yet.

20.06Some pressure on the Paszek serve here as Azarenka pulls it back to 40-40 after being 30-love down.

20.01The two players continue to serve well as they exchange games, leaving Azarenka 4-3 up in the first set. New balls please.

19.54After the previous game had six deuces, Azarenka makes swift work of her turn on serve by holding to love.

19.51We do still have some tennis to bring you courtesy of that marvelous Centre Court roof. Victoria Azarenka and Tamira Paszek are currently occuping SW19's biggest stage in their quarter final clash and are on serve having each held twice in the opening stages.

19.49So, Radwanska and Kirilenko will conclude their tussle tomorrow with the match brilliantly poised at 4-4 in the deciding third set.

19.46Groans on Court One as the umpire decides to suspend play for the evening. Fine drizzle had started to come down and the powers that be deemed the surface too slippy for play to continue.

19.44Again, Radwanska holds off the advances of Kirilenko to recover from 30-30 to keep this deciding set on serve.

19.41If Radwanska is admirable in defence, Kirilenko is equally impressive in attack. She holds to love in the seventh game, hitting two winners and serving two aces in the process.

19.39Meanwhile, Azarenka verus Paszek is going with serve in the early stages, with the former leading 2-1.

19.37More persistence in defence from Radwanska as she eventually holds after Kirilenko had forced her to 40-30.

19.33Kirilenko moves ahead after battling hard to hold against her stubborn opponent.

19.30Radwanska sends down a rare ace on her way to holding and levelling the third set at two games all.

19.28Azarenka is the highest seed left in the women's draw, but faces stiff competition in the shape of in-form Paszek, who won at Eastbourne last week and eliminated former world number one Caroline Wozniacki in the earlier rounds.

19.27Second seed Azarenka's match with Paszek on Centre Court is due to begin shortly, but we'll be focusing mostly on the deciding set between Radwanska and Kirilenko on Court One.

19.25New balls are called as Kirilenko shows fine form on serve to hold and move 2-1 ahead

19.22However, Radwanksa is unable to build on that as Kirilenko produces a superb cross-court backhand winner on her way to an instant break back.

19.19Radwanska gains the initiative immediately after the restart with an early break to deuce in this third set. Just a reminder that the Pole won the first set 7-5 before Kirilenko levelled the match at 4-6 prior to the rain suspension.

19.14Correction, Radwanska and Kirilenko is about to resume on Court One. Instead, another quarter-final delayed by the weather, Victoria Azarenka versus Tamira Paszek, will take place under the Centre Court roof.

19.12That match involving third-seed Radwanska is likely to follow Kerber on Centre after the rain came down again shortly before the scheduled restart on Court One. Just waiting for confirmation of that news...

19.10GAME, SET AND MATCH! Lisicki 3-6 7[9-6[7] 7-5 Kerber At the fifth attempt, Kerber secures her place in the Wimbledon semi-finals, where she will play either Agnieszka Radwanska or Maria Kirilenko.

19.08She has three more match points here, but cannot take the first of them as Lisicki forces her wide and then converts an easy volley at the net.

19.06Break! This whole match, but in particular this set, has been full of twists. After looking defeated all of five minutes ago, Kerber breaks for what could be the final time against her fellow German. She is about to serve for the match having already wasted three chances to advance into the last four...

19.04Kerber goes on to hold and bring the match level at 5-5 in the third set.

19.03Talk about fine margins. It is Kerber this time who reaps the benefits of the hawk-eye system as she successfully appeals a clean winner which just brushed the white paint.

19.02Good news! The rain has subsided (at least temporarily), and play between Radwanska and Kirilenko will resume on Court One in around five minutes.

19.00Break! Incredible. This one will continue after Kerber produces a pair of backhand winners to break back and put this set back on serve.

18.58Sabine Lisicki is one game away from consecutive Wimbledon semi-finals. She's now serving for the match at 5-3 in the third...

18.56Lisicki moves 40-0 ahead on Kerber's serve and despite the latter pulling a point back, she soon gifts Lisicki the game with a double fault. Kerber shares a look with her coach which suggests she feels it just isn't her day.

18.54Work hard she does. Lisicki forces Kerber into an error before converting a winner to move 4-3 ahead. Lisicki's winner count is nearly at 50 now.

18.52Kerber hits consecutive return winners to take the game to deuce. Just as it looked as if Lisicki was gaining momentum, Kerber ensures the 15th seed is forced to work hard for her hold.

18.49Break! Yet again Lisicki breaks straight back partly due to being on the right side of a couple of close hawk-eye calls.

18.45Break! That turns out to be good work wasted as Lisicki fires a forehand wide to gift Kerber a second break in this set. Can the eighth seed capitalise and go on to secure a semi-final berth from here?

18.43Superb from Lisicki as she saves break point with a superb cross-court backhand and forehand volley combination, the latter of which just caught the line.

18.40Kerber holds serve rather more comfortably to level this decider at two games each.

18.38We have a cracking match on our hands on Centre, but I do have some bad news to bring you. The rain that hampered yesterday's action has returned and forced play to be suspended between Radwanska and Kirilenko on Court One. The suspension comes with the two players level at a set apiece and yet to begin the third.

18.36We briefly have the possibility of three consecutive breaks, but Lisicki holds her serve by reeling off four consecutive points to come from 15-40 down.

18.32Break! A backhand into the net from Kerber sees her surrender her serve and waste her break advantage. Back on serve at 1-1...

18.31Despite her break, Kerber is showing signs of frustration as she slams her racket into the floor following an error that puts Lisicki 30-15 up and allows her the chance to break back immediately.

18.29It turns out only to be a temporary rest reprieve for Lisicki as she fires a forehand into the net to gift Kerber an early break in this decider.

18.27Kerber comes out after the interval stronger and earns herself two break points, but Lisicki slams down another powerful serve to the eighth seed's backhand and she can't force it back over the net.

18.25Radwanksa is broken by Kirilenko, which means that one is also going into a deciding set. After a lengthy comfort break, Kerber and Lisicki are back on Centre ready to begin the third. Lisicki to serve...

18.23SET! Radwanska 7-5 4-6 Kirilenko

18.20Meanwhile, over on Court One, third seed Agnieszka Radwanska is a set up against Maria Kirilenko, but is serving to stay in the second at 4-5.

18.17SET! Lisicki 3-6 7[9]-6[7] Kerber

18.17The number 15 seed regains her composure to fire in a pair of big serves to earn herself another set point at 8-7. Her serve fired her to victory over Sharapova and it is saving her here.

18.17Lisicki must be so frustrated. Two more unforced errors, one return into the net and another wide give Kerber a third match point...

18.15This breaker is turning out to be pretty back and forth. After a superb cross-court winner, remarkably played from her knees, two big serves from Lisicki put her 6-5 ahead. Set point...

18.13However, two unforced errors from Lisicki gift Kerber a 5-3 lead.

18.11A poor drop shot from Kerber allows Lisicki to approach the net and fire an easy passing winner down the line to level at 3-3.

18.09It is Kerber though who has gained control in this breaker against her German compatriot- she's taken a 3-1 lead.

18.06Lisicki has just produced a great volley to take advantage at 5-6 down in the second before winning a point off first serve to take the set to a tiebreak.

18.03Cheers Pascal! A slight technical hitch has meant we've lost a few of our latest updates, but just to fill you in, Sabine Lisicki is serving to stay in the match against Angelique Kerber over on Centre Court.

18.00Right folks, that's my stint at the keyboard done for the day. Joe Fish will be guiding you through the remainder of the day's play. Over to you Joe...

17.16Lisicki appears to be having treatment on what looks like a blistered thumb. Poor girl.

17.16Meanwhile, on No. 2 Court Mr Tsonga is within a game of victory at 5-3 in the fourth.

17.14Over on No. 1 Radwanska has held serve to consolidate her advantage. The third seed is now 5-3 ahead in the first against Kirilenko.

17.13Lisicki looks well and truly fed up and the trainer has been called to court. Not sure what the problem is as Lisicki's movement looked fine.

Lisicki 3-6 0-0* KerberSET! Lisicki throws away another double to gift Kerber the set.

17.12Kerber has three set points out of nowhere as Lisicki double faults.

Lisicki *3-5 KerberNo nerves whatsover from Kerber as she holds to love.

17.09Play is just getting back underway on the outside courts. Tsonga 4-6 7-6 6-4 4-2 Fish and Radwanska 4-3 Kirilenko.

Lisicki 3-4* KerberThe crowd produce the loudest cheer of the match so far as Lisicki holds with a big forehand drive volley. Pressure right on Kerber to hold now.

17.06I love Kerber's on-the-run forehand crosscourt, it whips away and she's using it fully at the moment.

Lisicki *2-4 KerberBREAK! Kerber saves the first with an impressive forehand on-the-run but double faults on the second to gift Lisicki one break back.

17.03This is much better from Sabine as she lets loose on a forehand down-the-line to set up two break points.

17.02Kerber can't get complacent though as she double faults on the opening point of the sixth game, we all know Lisicki can rise to the big occasion. This first set looks gone though.

Lisicki 1-4* KerberBREAK! Kerber has a double break as Lisicki pulls a forehand wide. The crowd favourite is really struggling to impose herself while Kerber looks so cool and collected.

16.59It's constant big-hitting from both women but more often than not it's the higher-ranked Kerber who comes out on top in the rallies.

Lisicki *1-3 KerberKerber looks comfortable on serve and she sends down an ace to complete a hold to-love.

16.55That's brilliant from Kerber as she works her way back into the rally before putting away the point with a forehand that wrongfoots Lisicki.

16.54The skies are much clearer overhead at SW19 and the covers are coming off on the outside courts.

Lisicki 1-2* KerberLisicki finally holds as Kerber sends a backhand lob past the baseline.

16.52Rubbish (it really was) return from Kerber and we're back to deuce.

16.51This is becoming a real struggle for Lisicki, she has a monstrous serve but it's coupled with erratic groundstrokes at the moment. Another break point for Kerber...

16.49Huge serve from the 22-year-old closes the door, for now. Back to deuce. You feel Lisicki just needs to get on the board here.

16.49Second break-point chance for Kerber as Lisicki blazes an off-backhand wide...

16.47She saves it with a nice, deep forehand that Kerber can only drag into the net. Deuce.

16.46Strange to see the Royal Box pretty much empty as the celebrated guests take a drinks break after Serena's win. Lisicki is facing another break point at 30-40...

16.44No such problems for Kerber on serve as she holds to love thanks to Lisicki finding the net three times before a backhand winner.

16.43BREAK! Kerber has broken at the first time of asking as Lisicki approaches the net at 30-40 only to be passed with a cross-court backhand from the eighth seed.

16.42Lisicki has a nice bit of luck at 15-30 as the ball bobbles over after clipping the tape. Both women not holding back early on.

16.41Nice stat from @Wimbledon: "This is the first time four Germans have reached the singles quarterfinals stage at Wimbledon." That's the two women on Centre and male counterparts Mayer and Kohlschreiber, who progressed to the last eight earlier today.

16.40Perfect start for the 15th seed as she serves a wide ace.

16.39Lisicki and Kerber have finished their warm-up and we're just about ready to go. The former will serve first.

16.36Click here for more from Serena after her straight-sets defeat of Kvitova.

16.31Next up on Centre is an all-German women's quarter-final between Lisicki and Kerber. Both women have been impressive so far in the Championships but I reckon the crowd will favour Lisicki because of her exploits in knocking out number one seed Sharapova.

16.28Just as the game on Centre finishes the covers are coming off on the outside courts. Isn't that nice?

16.27She adds that she's going to 'have to step it up' in her next match if she's to have a chance of claiming her fifth Wimbo crown.

16.27Serena tells BBC Sport that she had "nothing to lose" as Kvitova was the one defending her title.

16.26Serena's opponent in the last four will be either Tamira Paszek or Victoria Azarenka. You'd have to say Azarenka as she's number two seed but Paszek has been awesome so far this Championship.

16.24That performance sends a message to the rest of the draw and Serena is surely big favourite to win the Wimbledon crown for a fifth time.

16.23GAME, SET AND MATCH! Serena again aces her way to 40-30 and she delivers yet another boomer which Kvitova can only frame.

16.22Kvitova refuses to go away easily as she produces an excellent return. 30-30.

16.21Another ace from Serena, she really has impressed on serve today.

16.21Kvitova produces an excellent low slice that Serena can only loop long. 15-15.

16.20Williams begins the game with an ace. Surprise, surprise.

16.18BREAK! Kvitova's serve is good and Williams's return spoons into the air. However, Kvitova's easy forehand finds the net and now Serena will serve for a place in the last four.

16.18Break point Serena as she powerfully takes control in the point. Kvitova needs a big serve...

16.17Serena now within a pair of points of breaking as she tugs it back to 30-30.

16.16Kvitova looks good at 30-0 but Williams responds with some crushing blows off both wings.

16.15Top point from both women as Kvitova spoons Serena's pass up into the air. Serena races to the net and smacks a forehand straight at the Czech, who manages to get a racket to it before Serena puts away the next forehand. 5-5 in the second.

16.13Williams puts a serve in and Kvitova's return smacks the tape. Back at deuce.

16.13It's set point Kvitova as she puts away a short ball with a flick of her two-hander.

16.12That's a top serve from Serena though and it's 30-30.

16.11Kvitova is two points away from the set at 15-30 as Williams drags a forehand wide.

16.09New message on Twitter from @Wimbledon: "They're going to deflate the covers on the outside courts ready for when the rain stops." Note the "when", not if. Hurrah!

16.08That's a confidence-boosting hold from Kvitova as she reels off four points in a row to take the game. Williams must now serve to stay in the set.

16.06She's got some mettle this girl. Kvitova pulls it back to 30-30 with a calm forehand winner.

16.05Williams takes the first two points of the game as Kvitova can't get a pair of backhands over the net. 0-30 and big trouble for the Czech.

16.04Sixth-seed Serena really does look untroubled when she has the ball in hand. She holds to 15 as Kvitova again can't find the court with a pass. Massive game coming up for Kvitova at 4-4.

16.01Serena begins serving with new balls at 3-4 and moves ahead in the game as Kvitova frames a forehand pass out.

15.59A tremendous rally ends the game that sees Serena charging from side-to-side retrieving the ball. The American digs out a forehand that Kvitova watches sail over her head and drop out. 4-3 to the Czech in the second.

15.58She can't take the game as Williams again steps way inside the baseline to smash a backhand return that Kvitova can do little about.

15.57Another scream of delight from Kvitova as a down-the-line forehand clips the sideline.

15.56This is extinguished as Kvitova produces a stellar forehand that finds the corner. We're at deuce as Serena's return just catches the line.

15.56Kvitova is ahead in the rally at 30-15 but her forehand is just long and Williams has a chance at 30-30.

15.53Williams holds with ease and the pressure is back on Kvitova.

15.49Kvitova seems much more fired up in this set and holds to 15 as Serena blazes a return long.

15.48Here's a few words from Mr Murray after his win today about the decision of the officials not to put him on Centre. Read the story here.

15.46Kvitova begins the fourth game of the set with a return winner but is soon 40-15 down as Serena continues to look unstoppable on serve. She closes out the game with yet another ace - she's now into double figures for the match - out wide to level the set at 2-2.

15.42Serena pegs it back to deuce but Kvitova won't lie down as she fires in a big serve before killing off the game with an angled forehand.

15.40The four-time champion makes up for this glaring error with a stunning return on the next. 40-30.

15.40Wow. Serena gives herself the perfect opportunity to put away the next point but her drive volley almost makes it into the stand, badly mishit that one.

15.39Beautiful half-volley pick-up from Kvitova after a wallop of a return from Williams. 30-15 to Kvitova in the third game of the second.

15.37Serena levels the set as Kvitova wastes a second-serve return. The Czech is looking much better in this set though.

15.34The latest tweet from @Wimbledon doesn't bring good news: "Oh dear! The weather experts have just called. This rain is going to last for another hour!"

15.33Excellent start to the second from Kvitova as she seals the opening game with a forehand winner over the highest part of the net.

15.29SET! Kvitova reaches for a backhand return and can't find the court to give Serena the first set 6-3 in just over half an hour.

15.28It's set point Williams as the American puts a backhand right on Kvitova's feet.

15.27This doesn't phase Serena who responds with an ace that flies away off the line.

15.26The Czech begins the ninth game with a stunning backhand return winner.

15.26Kvitova tries to get herself going with a word of encouragement following a forehand winner. She steps up to deliver an ace on the next and in doing so forces Serena to serve out the set at 5-3.

15.25Kvitova has a game point of her own but there's no chance she's winning that one as Serena bullets a backhand return up the line.

15.23Serena has a set point all of a sudden but she can't take the first set quite yet as she loops a backhand long. Deuce.

15.22The rally of the match ends with Kvitova pulling a backhand wide. The pair traded shots landing from baseline to baseline before Kvitova went for the jugular but misfired.

15.20Sister Venus, who lost in the opening round this year, is cheering her sister on with father Richard. He loves to wander the grounds at SW19, I remember when I was there a few years ago he lapped up the celebrity status of being the father of the famous Williams sisters.

15.18A 120mph serve from Serena sets up 40-0 and she finishes the game off with the most delicate of drop shots. Very, very nice.

15.17BREAK! Williams takes her second chance of a break as Kvitova wastes court position with a wide forehand. The four-time champion now serving at 4-2.

15.16Serena has three break points after a return winner set her on her way in game six of the first set.

15.15Here are the two scores as they stand because of the rain:

Men's fourth round: Tsonga 4-6 7-6 6-4 4-2(0-15) Fish

Women's quarter-final: Radwanska 4-3 Kirilenko

15.13Serena produces a near-impossible angle on a backhand at 15-15 before aceing her way to a 3-2 lead.

15.12Oh no, play on No. 1 and No. 2 has been interrupted as the clouds once again empty their load.

15.10The four-time champion can't get her next two returns in court though and Kvitova has game point. The Czech takes it as Williams stoops for a backhand and can only find the net.

15.09A couple of loose shots from defending champion Kvitova give Williams a glimpse of a break at 15-30.

15.07Tsonga manages to hold on after a tense game with Fish to keep his break in the fourth set and take a 4-2 lead. The fifth seed just two games from the match on No. 2.

15.06Serena challenges her first serve, which was called out, at 40-0 and she's dead right as Hawk Eye shows us it clipped the sideline. The American looks good early on here.

15.05Over on No. 1 Court, Radwanska has got the break against Kirilenko and leads 4-2 in the opening set.

15.04Serena nets the return and we're back level at 1-1 on Centre.

15.03Serena held serve in the opening game and now Kvitova has moved to 40-15.

15.02Right, I'm back now after Liam's stint helped me have some lunch. I'll be focussing on the pick of the women's quarter-finals in Serena vs. Kvitova.

14.58But Fish shows great character to hold serve. It's now 3-2 to Tsonga, who is preparing to serve.

14.56And he now 15-30 up on the Fish serve. Chance for another break.

14.54Talking of Tsonga, he now leads Fish 3-1 in the fourth set.

14.54GAME SET AND MATCH: Kohlschreiber overcomes Baker with relative ease 6-1 7-6 6-3. The German is into the quarter-finals against either Tsonga or Fish.

14.51Let's check in on Tsonga's match with Fish. The Frenchman has recovered from a one-set deficit to gain a 2-1 lead. He is also leading 2-1 in the fourth set with a break.

14.48However, Radwanska and Kirilenko return despite the rain. The latter leads 2-1 in the opening set.

14.46Here comes that pesky rain again! Play has been halted on all courts, for now at least.

14.45Looking ahead to that match, Ferrer concedes to BBC Sport that it will be "very difficult" to beat Murray. We shall see tomorrow afternoon.

14.43Oh, and if you didn't know, Ferrer will now play Murray in the quarter-finals. That is a repeat of the recent French Open, which Ferrer won.

14.42Have to say that was surprisingly easy for Ferrer. I think it was a combination of the Spaniard playing extremely well and Del Potro failing to produce his best form.

14.41GAME, SET AND MATCH: After an unsuccessful challenge, Del Potro hits long and loses 6-3 6-2 6-3 to Ferrer.

14.40Del Potro hits the net yet again! Match point Ferrer...

14.3930-30. Del Potro has his head in his hands as he produces a double fault as the worst possible time.

14.39Make that 30-15 as Ferrer capitalises on a poor drop shot from Del Potro.

14.38Del Potro is currently 30-0 up on his serve. Can the Argentine hold out?

14.37And as easy as that, he serves out to win the game. Del Potro will now serve to stay in the tournament.

14.36Back to Centre, where Ferrer has just launched an ace past Del Potro to go 30-0 up.

14.36SET! Good work from JW Tsonga, who has won the third set against Fish 6-4. The Frenchman now leads 2-1 in sets.

14.35Ferrer is about to serve. Massive game coming up.

14.34But Del Potro hits long this time around and now Ferrer leads 4-3 in the third set. If he holds his serve next time, you fear that could be curtains for Del Potro.

14.33The big Argentine rescues one with a superb stroke down the line past a wrong-footed Ferrer. Two to go.

14.32Make that 0-40 as Del Potro finds only the net. Three break points for Ferrer...

14.310-30 to Ferrer on the Del Potro serve. Big point coming up.

14.30Back to Centre and Ferrer holds with ease. It's now three games each in the third set, with Ferrer leading 2-0 in sets.

14.29Elsewhere, Radwanska and Kirilenko get their quarter-final underway.

14.28Ferrer must be one of the most annoying players to play against on the Tour. The pint-sized Spaniard is returning everything right now. He currently leads 40-0 on his own serve.

14.26Which he takes courtesy of Ferrer finding the net from Del Potro's second serve.

14.25But what a turnaround from Del Potro. Two big serves leave him on game point.

14.24Some fantastic defensive strokes from Ferrer put him 15-30 up on the Del Potro serve. A chance for a break here.

14.23Meanwhile, Ferrer holds his serve to level up the third set at two games apiece.

14.23SET! Kohlschreiber looks to be heading for victory over Baker. The German has opened up a 2-0 lead in sets thanks to a 7-4 success in a tie-break.

14.21Have to confess to being surprised by the way this match has gone so far. I rate Ferrer, but had a feeling Del Potro was going to win this one. He still might of course and what a victory it would be.

14.21As it stands, Ferrer leads by two sets to nil. The third set is 2-1 in Del Potro's favour, going with serve.

14.20Thanks Pascal and afternoon everybody. Not going to hang around here, going to dive straight into Centre Court and Ferrer vs. Del Potro.

14.16Okey doke, I'm gonna take a 45-minute break until 3. In the meantime I'll pass you over to my colleague Liam Apicella. Liam...

14.15GAME, SET AND MATCH! Mayer breaks Gasquet again to take the fourth 6-2 and seal a 6-3 6-1 3-6 6-2 win. He'll next face number one seed Novak Djokovic.

14.13Murray tells BBC Sport that it was a "bitty" encounter but admits he was delighted with his serve.

14.12Murray will now wait to see who comes out on top on Centre Court. It looks as if he'll play Ferrer in the last eight. Here's our concise report on Murray's win.

14.11Murray is almost off his feet as he launches a backhand onto the baseline that Cilic can only hit tamely to the net.

14.10GAME, SET AND MATCH!

14.10This is vintage stuff from Murray as he blasts down a 134mph ace. Three match points.

14.08Cilic won't lie down and he forces Murray to serve it out by holding to love.

14.08Gasquet looks to be on the verge of going out as he's now a break down in the fourth to Mayer. The German's serving at 4-2 over on No. 3.

14.05"Game Murray" as the world number four moves within a game of victory. His serve has been exceptional today.

14.02Cilic holds as Murray nets a return. The Scot now serving 4-2 ahead.

14.02SET! Ferrer shows no signs of nerves by holding to take the second 6-2 on Centre. Del Potro needs to show some resolve over there.

14.02Cilic has the chance to close out the game sixth game of the set but he double faults to again put us back at deuce.

13.59Ferrer double breaks Del Potro for a 5-2 lead in the second on Centre. Spaniard looking really good on the main court.

13.59Cilic saves all three with a big serve out wide, a deep forehand and lovely backhand up-the-line. Back at deuce.

13.57Murray's troubling the Cilic serve again at 0-40 after a swing-and-miss from Cilic is followed by a double fault and unforced error. Three break points...

13.56Ferrer backs up the break on Centre to go 4-2 ahead while Gasquet and Mayer are on serve in the fourth on No. 3.

13.54Murray's serve really has been faultless today. A trio of aces and another unreturnable are more than enough for the Scot to move 4-1 ahead. Victory definitely in sight now.

13.53BREAK! No messing from the British number one as he races forward to meet a Cilic volley and whip a forehand over the highest part of the net for a winner. He leads 3-1 in the third.

13.52Two break points for Murray as Cilic loops a cross-court forehand wide.

13.51Ferrer has broken the Del Potro serve on Centre to take a 3-2 lead in the second.

13.50Tsonga, who is said to be struggling with a back injury on No. 2, has broken in the first game of the third set against Fish.

13.49Baker's doing much better in the second over on 12. The American and Kohlschreiber are on serve at 3-2.

13.47Murray moves ahead in the third with a second-serve ace. 2-1 to the Scot.

13.46Cilic screams out in anger as he sets up an easy forehand volley with a great return only to get caught up and nudge the volley wide.

13.45"Game Cilic" as the Croat keeps the faith and blasts down a serve that Murray can only send high into the London sky.

13.43Magnificent defensive work from Murray prevents Cilic holding again and we're back at deuce.

13.42SET! Gasquet closes out the third 6-3 to peg a set back against Mayer on Court 12.

13.42The Croat can't close out the second game of the set as Murray yet again plonks a return on the baseline that the 16th seed can do little about.

13.41Murray has a sight of a break at 0-30 but Cilic plays some brilliant tennis to move 40-30 ahead.

13.40SET! Tsonga comes out on top 7-4 in the breaker to level the match with Fish on No. 2 Court.

13.39The crowd cheer as the rain eases and Murray and Cilic leave their seats to resume on No. 1.

13.38On Centre, Ferrer and DelPo have started the second on serve, with the latter 2-1 ahead.

13.36Tsonga takes the advantage in the breaker by moving 4-2 ahead at the first change of ends.

13.34Tsonga and Fish have entered a second-set tie-break over on No. 2 as Murray and Cilic's match is temporarily stopped while the referees assess the situation.

13.34Murray has his first game point of the set as the rain comes down a little harder. He takes it and clenches his fist. Good hold from the Scot.

13.32Cilic earns yet another break point but is yet again denied by a 133mph serve out wide from Murray.

13.31Another massive serve from Murray saves a third break point of the game. Back at deuce.

13.30Gasquet has broken in the third set against Mayer to take a 4-2 lead. Is the Frenchman mounting a comeback?

13.29Murray saves both with serves above 130mph. Impressive resolve from the British number one.

13.28Cilic steps up the court to blast a forehand inside the baseline and now he has two break points.

13.28Fish and Tsonga are locked at 5-5 in their second set as Murray plants a forehand into the net. He's at 15-30 in the opening game of the third.

13.27Unfortunately, the rain is once again falling on the All England Club. Play however continuing, for the time being.

13.26SET! Sets ending all over the place as Ferrer holds to 15 to take the first on Centre in 42 minutes. Del Potro looked the better player early on but Ferrer is surely the most dogged player on Tour.

13.25SET! The Scot steps up to a second serve and fires a backhand to the baseline that Cilic can only net. Murray now two sets ahead and will serve at the start of the third.

13.24Murray has set point on No. 1....

13.24SET! Kohlschreiber makes no mistake and takes the first set in 28 minutes against Baker.

13.23Murray again denies Cilic the game with a lovely high backhand cross-court winner.

13.22Kohlschreiber has the double break on 12 and is now serving for the first set at 5-1 against Baker.

13.222Strange shot from Cilic as he can only find the middle of the net with an off-forehand. Deuce.

13.21DelPo holds on Centre and Ferrer will now serve for the opener at 5-3.

13.21Murray's ahead in the rally but finds the tape with a forehand. Cilic now with the chance of taking the game.

13.20Glimpse of the set for Murray as Cilic nudges a forehand wide of the line. 30-30.

13.18Fish has broken back against Tsonga following the delay on No. 2. The American now serving at 3-4 in the second.

13.18Ferrer is also now 5-2 ahead as he holds to move within one game of the opening set on Centre.

13.17This looks easy enough for 'Muzza'. He holds to love thanks to some loose shots from Cilic and some impressive serving.

13.15The Scot is serving a 4-2 ahead in the second.

13.14The Argentinian holds thanks to a nice backhand volley and we're now going to switch our main focus to Murray vs. Cilic...

13.13DelPo moves to 40-0 with that massive forehand but all of a sudden we're at deuce.

13.11Del Potro delivers the first ace of the match with a rocket down the middle. He's 30-0 up on serve in the sixth game.

13.09Hello, hello. Murray and Cilic are back out on No. 1 as the rain has held off for a little while. We'll turn our attentions to the second showcourt very shortly.

13.08Ferrer consolidates the break as Del Potro again can't find the other side of the net with a forehand.

13.08A wild forehand from DelPo gives Ferrer 40-0 on his serve as he has his most comfortable game yet.

13.06BREAK! Brilliant from Ferrer, who saved four break points in the opening game remember. He entices DelPo to the net with a drop shot before passing up-the-line. 3-1.

13.05First break point for Ferrer as DelPo's forehand can't get inside the sideline. 30-40.

13.01Ferrer holds to 30 with a classic one-two punch. 2-1 to the Spaniard.

12.59Del Potro is the man in control at the moment. Ferrer's game does rely on defensive play but he needs to look more assured on serve. 30-30 in game three.

12.58Much steadier from Del Potro as he holds to love.

12.55DelPo is angry with the umpire after he apparently didn't hear a challenge being called. No bother, the ball was out and the Argentinian is 30-0 up on serve.

12.53"Game Ferrer" (at last) as Del Potro wastes a commanding position in the rally by firing a forehand wide.

12.51We're at deuce number six as Ferrer wastes a passing opportunity by nudging a forehand wide.

12.49This could be a really long match! We're back at deuce as DelPo shows off his booming forehand to stop Ferrer holding serve.

12.48A fourth break point goes begging as Ferrer closes the door with a big forehand followed by a clever drop shot.

12.47DelPo earns another break point but the Argentinian is denied once again as Ferrer puts away a tough overhead.

12.46Ferrer saves both break points as first Del Potro nets before the Spaniard steps up and takes on a backhand down the line.

12.44First shot to get the crowd going as Del Potro uses his full wingspan to bullet a forehand up the line. He then earns two break points as Ferrer nets.

12.43A tense rally ends with Del Potro pushing an on-the-reach forehand long. 15-15.

12.43It'll be Ferrer to serve first and he puts a drop volley into the net to lose the first point.

12.42Both DelPo and Ferrer have never reached a Wimbledon quarter-final. Whoever goes through is likely to play Murray in the last eight.

12.41Still plenty of empty seats on Centre as the crowd filter into the famous arena.

12.40Both men finishing off their warm-ups with a few serves and we're one minute away from play.

12.37DelPo and Ferrer are out on Centre and we'll definitely have tennis in about ten minutes.

12.34Here's the latest tweet from @Wimbledon: "There is another shower on its way so the courts will stay covered at this stage."

12.29Murray 7-5 4-1 Cilic

Tsonga 4-6 4-1 Fish

Gasquet 3-6 1-6 1-0 Mayer

Baker 1-3 Kohlschreiber

12.27Here's a quick round-up of the latest scores from the matches that did briefly start earlier...

12.23Del Potro and Ferrer are set to be called to Centre in around ten minutes time.

12.19All of a sudden it's a lot heavier and the groundstaff rush out onto court and pull across the covers. Oh no.

12.18Strange scenes on No. 1 as Murray and Cilic come off court but the groundstaff haven't put the covers on. They're just idly standing at the side waiting to see if the rain eases off.

12.16They're closing the roof on Centre, why on earth did they open it in the first place? Madness.

12.16PLAY SUSPENDED! Cilic holds with a drive volley before Carlos Bernardes announces that the rain is too heavy to carry on.

12.15Murray doesn't surrender the game as he finishes off a well-constructed point with a cross-court forehand.

12.13A forehand winner from Cilic followed by a pair of loose Murray backhands gives Cilic 40-0.

12.12Tsonga has broken on No. 2 and now leads 4-1 in the second set.

12.11Light rain still falling as they put the covers on on Centre. Why didn't they just keep the roof closed?

12.11Murray begins at 3-1, 40-0. He takes the game as Cilic nets a forehand.

12.10SET! And there's the set for Mayer. He takes a 2-0 lead thanks to a 6-1 success.

12.09Murray and Cilic's warm-up has come to a brief halt as the rain comes again.

12.08Blimey, Mayer's made an absolutely storming start on No. 3. The 31st-seed breaks Gasquet again to take a 5-1 lead in the second.

12.05Kohlschreiber, who won the grass event at Halle a couple of weeks ago, breaks Baker's serve at the first time of asking.

12.05Mayer aces down the middle to back up that break, he's now 4-1 ahead in the second.

12.04Tsonga shows no nerves at having to start at deuce by holding serve to move ahead 2-1 in the second.

12.03Kohlschreiber holds serve in the first game on Court 12 against Baker.

12.02Murray and Cilic have just come out on to No. 1.

12.02The first game of the day has gone to Mayer, who breaks Gasquet straight away to take a 3-1 lead in the second set.

12.00Wimbledon officials must be confident that the rain will hold off as they've opened the Centre Court roof. Ferrer and Del Potro expected shortly.

11.59So, just as the three men's matches get ready to go on the outside courts, Murray will be coming out onto No. 1 very soon. This game will be our focus but fear not, you won't miss any major developments in any of the other matches.

11.56I've just watched a video of Fish hitting a line judge in the face with a serve yesterday. I know it's mean but it's hard not to laugh:

11.52I'm surprised Gasquet is currently losing that one. The Frenchman, who once said he learnt English just to talk to girls, is often excellent on the grass but has clearly met his match in German Mayer.

11.52Baker and Kohlschreiber are close to starting on Court 12 while Gasquet and Mayer have just come out on No. 3 Court.

11.50Here come the ball boys and girls and umpires out onto No. 2 Court. Tsonga and Fish are making their way through the crowds outside the arena and will enter shortly. Tsonga sporting some huge headphones. I wonder what he's listening to? Don't Stop Me Now? Eye of the Tiger?

11.46Warm ups are now beginning on the outside courts! I'll be keeping you up to date with all singles matches throughout the day. Of the early starters, can Tsonga fight back against Fish? He's a set down and serving at deuce at 1-1 in the second.

11.40Latest forecasts suggest we may not have a drop of rain until around 4pm. Wouldn't that be nice.

11.36The skies above Wimbledon are looking a little brighter and following an inspection we should have play on the outside courts soon.

11.33So the three men's fourth-round matches we're following on the outside courts should begin shortly, barring any more intervention from the sky.

11.32@Wimbledon just tweeted this: "Rain has stopped, covers are coming off, play will start asap at #Wimbledon."

11.29If the rain continues to fall then Murray may not be able to get his match done today. This could severely impact his schedule for the quarters and semis if he gets through. Have the Wimbledon officials dealt the Scot a blow by not putting him on Centre?

11.25The roof on Centre Court is closed so we'll definitely have play starting at noon. We may also have play before that on the outside courts as the covers are coming off again!

11.24The other showcourt, No. 1 Court, begins with Murray's match against Cilic. The Scot is a set and a break ahead at 7-5 3-1. This is followed by the other two women's quarters. First, third-seed Agnieszka Radwanska faces Maria Kirilenko before unseeded Austrian Tamira Paszek tries to dismantle second-seed Victoria Azarenka.

11.20Bad news. The heavens have opened once again and the covers are being rushed back on.

11.19Finally of note on the outside courts is the fourth-round encounter between Brian Baker and Phillip Kohlschreiber on Court 12. The winner of that one faces the winner of Murray-Cilic.

11.17On No. 3 Court there's another match already begun with Richard Gasquet and Florian Mayer also in the second set. Mayer has a one-set lead at 3-6 1-2.

11.14Scheduled to get underway at 11.30 are three men's fourth-round matches. On No. 2 Court, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Mardy Fish resume their match with the American a set ahead at 4-6 1-1.

11.12The covers are coming off on the outside courts! The rain isn't falling at the moment and groundstaff at the All England Club are working to ensure play can get underway on the outside courts in around 20 minutes.

11.09Finally on Centre we have Wimbledon's favourite German Lasicki, who knocked out top seed Maria Sharapova yesterday. She takes on fellow German and in-form lefty Kerber.

11.07Following this we have the pick of the women's quarters as four-time champion Serena faces defending champion Kvitova. You wouldn't be a fool to bet on the winner of that going on to win the tournament.

11.06Play begins on the showcourts at noon and first up we have a tasty encounter between Ferrer and Del Potro. Completely contrasting styles here as Ferrer tactically outsmarts his opponent while Del Potro's power can at times be irresistible.

11.04The games scheduled for Centre Court are (in order):
David Ferrer vs. Juan Martin Del Potro
Serena Williams vs. Petra Kvitova
Sabine Lisicki vs. Angelique Kerber

11.02First things first, let's take a look at today's weather forecast for SW19. It looks set to be another miserable day with annoying, drizzly showers persistently falling. This of course means that all the games on Centre should be played thanks to the roof.
