Novak Djokovic insists that he is not thinking about his recent French Open final defeat as he begins the defence of his Wimbledon title.

Novak Djokovic has insisted that his recent French Open final defeat is behind him as he embarks on the defence of his Wimbledon title.

The Serbian world number one missed out on becoming the first man to hold all four Grand Slams at the same time since 1969 when he was beaten at Roland Garros earlier this month by Rafael Nadal.

Despite the disappointing loss, the 25-year-old says that he is focused on the next two weeks at SW19.

"It's behind me now," Djokovic told reporters. "Yes, I was so close, and there was a slight disappointment after the match because I was aware of the chance that I had at Roland Garros.

"But the day after I felt good about my tournament, about my achievement in Paris. It was the first time I had been in the finals of Roland Garros.

"That's a step further from all these years that I've been playing in Paris. That's something that made me satisfied. I'm still only 25, so I believe that I have a lot more years and a lot more chances to win Roland Garros."

Djokovic begins the defence of his title on Monday when he takes on Spanish former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero on Centre Court.
