Petra Kvitova has revealed that she was pleased to have handled the pressure during her triumph in the Wimbledon final.
The Czech, who was seeded sixth, clinched the second title of her career at SW19 on Saturday thanks to a 6-3 6-0 thrashing of Canadian youngster Eugenie Bouchard.
"I played with the pressure, I was always the favourite of the match, and I still did a good job," she is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"It was very tough mentally and I'm just glad I had a mental coach here who helped me. I know that I can play really good again and that's the important thing for me."
Bouchard's previous triumph at Wimbledon came back in 2011.
