Andy Murray has revealed that having the home support behind him at Wimbledon makes a "huge difference".
The British number one reached the fourth round at SW19 courtesy of a 6-2 6-2 1-6 6-1 victory over Andreas Seppi on Saturday as he continues his quest for a second title at the All England Club.
Murray was nearly joined in the fourth round by compatriot Heather Watson, who came agonisingly close to pulling off a major upset against Serena Williams, and the Scot believes that Watson's performance is proof of just how much having the crowd behind you can help.
"When you can get the crowd involved in the match, it makes a huge difference to your performance - you saw that with Heather," Murray is quoted as saying by PA.
"It goes to show that when everyone goes on about the pressures of playing at Wimbledon, how difficult it is - yes, the pressures are hard, but Heather arguably played the best match of her career yesterday. She played unbelievable.
"It shows that the crowd, they really do make a big difference. They help a lot once you get out there."
Murray will now face Ivo Karlovic in the fourth round on Monday.
