Prime Minister David Cameron believes that Andy Murray "deserves" a knighthood for his Wimbledon triumph.
The Scotsman has been tipped for the honour after making history by becoming the first British man since Fred Perry 77 years ago to win the singles title at SW19.
"Honours are decided independently, but frankly I can't think of anyone who deserves one more," Cameron told Sky Sports News.
Murray clinched the crown with a 6-4 7-5 6-4 victory over world number one Novak Djokovic.
