Rafael Nadal has announced that he will not compete at Wimbledon this year due to a wrist injury.
The two-time champion at SW19 was forced to pull out of the French Open and Queen's recently after picking up the problem at Roland Garros.
The Spaniard has now announced that the injury will also see him miss Wimbledon, where he has not made it past the fourth round since 2011.
"I'm sad to announce that after talking to my doctors, and receiving the results of my last medical revision, I won't be able to play at Wimbledon this year," the 30-year-old wrote on Facebook.
"As you can all imagine, it's a very tough decision, but the injury I suffered at Roland Garros needs time to heal.
"Thank you all for your support, especially my fans. Your kind messages mean so much to me."
Nadal, who has won 14 Grand Slam titles overall, lifted the Wimbledon trophy in 2008 and 2010.
