Serena Williams has insisted that she is under no pressure to win a sixth Wimbledon title.
The world number one is favourite for the SW19 crown but the American went out in the fourth and third round respectively in 2013 and 2014.
"I think the fact that I lost so early the past couple of years definitely makes me motivated but that also gives me a little less pressure," she told The Guardian.
"It makes me feel like 'OK, I'll be fine.' I have nothing to lose here. I don't have many points to defend here. So it's just like trying to have fun, go through it.
"Personally, it doesn't make it feel any different, which I think is a good thing because I don't feel any pressure to win all four Grand Slams. I've been saying that, but I really don't feel that pressure.
"Maybe if I would happen to win here, then maybe I might start feeling it after that. Ultimately, I'm taking it one day at a time and I'm not thinking that far."
Williams kicks off her Wimbledon campaign against world number 113 Margarita Gasparyan.
