Simona Halep, the top seed left in the women's draw, cruised through to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon by seeing off young Kazakh Zarina Diyas in straight sets 6-3 6-0 this afternoon.
With Serena Williams and Li Na already out, third seed Halep is the highest-ranked player left in the draw and made light work of 20-year-old Diyas on No.2 Court.
Diyas saved a break point in the opening game of the match but could do little to stop the Romanian breaking soon after.
Halep would break again at 5-3 to take the opener before romping through the second set in under half an hour, finishing the match on an eight-game winning streak.
She will next face either Sabine Lisicki or Yaroslava Shvedova in the last eight.
