The 2011 Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova has seen off her Czech compatriot Lucie Safarova in the semi-finals of this year's tournament with a 7-6(6) 6-1 win on Thursday.
Things started perfectly for the sixth seed as she broke Safarova in the very first game of the match, but after four games the pair were level and very evenly matched.
Both women were solid on serve and there were no more break points throughout the first set, with Kvitova eventually edging it 8-6 on a tie-break.
In the second set Kvitova got straight into the Safarova serve and broke with her third attempt, before cruising through the rest of the set and wrapping it up in just 29 minutes.
Kvitova will now face either Eugenie Bouchard or Simona Halep in Saturday's final.
