Marion Bartoli has won the first Grand Slam title of her career with a straight-sets victory over Sabine Lisicki in the Wimbledon final.
The French world number 15, who failed to lose a set on her way to lifting the trophy, was utterly dominant throughout as she saw off her German opponent 6-1 6-4.
Bartoli was broken instantly in the opening set, but she then reeled off six consecutive games in emphatic fashion to take it 6-1 with 30 minutes on the clock.
A nervous-looking Lisicki held serve for the first time in the match at the start of the second, only for the ruthless Bartoli to prey on her errors and open up a 4-1 lead.
Bartoli squandered three Championship points on the Lisicki serve at 5-1 before being broken, but she eventually held serve to close out the match 6-4.
