Great Britain's Johanna Konta was knocked out of Wimbledon at the round one stage this afternoon by Jelena Jankovic, who recorded a 6-2 7-5 victory in the English capital.
World number 16 Jankovic started the better of the two players and was able to press home her advantage by recording a double break to take the first set.
The second set was much more evenly contested, though, and it appeared to be heading for a tie-breaker.
However, with the scores level at 5-5, Konta committed her fourth double fault of the match on break-point down, thus handing her opponent a 6-5 lead.
A string of unforced errors from the British number three followed in the next game, which allowed Jankovic to book place in round two of the competition.
