Second seed and reigning Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova begins her tournament in style with a comfortable 6-1 6-0 first-round victory over Kiki Bertens on Centre Court.

Second seed and reigning champion Petra Kvitova began her Wimbledon campaign in style with a resounding 6-1 6-0 first-round victory over Kiki Bertens on Centre Court this afternoon.

Kvitova showcased some early dominance in the encounter after she broke her opponent at the first opportunity on the way to comfortably sealing the first set 6-1.

Bertens was unable to register much in the way of resistance in the second set, as Kvitova moved to 6-0 to close the match within 35 minutes.

Kvitova has obtained two Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon, following wins in both 2011 and 2014.
