Number four seed Stanislas Wawrinka has sealed his place in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon courtesy of a straight-sets win over Belgium's David Goffin.
During the opening set, Goffin won more points in return games than his opponent, as well as missing out on a break point, but it was Wawrinka who secured the opener after winning a tie-break 7-4.
The two players traded break of serves during an equally-competitive second, but after saving a set point in the tie-break, Wawrinka reeled off three points in a row to move closer to the last eight.
The Swiss kept the pressure on Goffin's serve in the third set and carved out the crucial break point which then allowed him to serve out for the match to take the set 6-3 and secure his victory.
Wawrinka will play Richard Gasquet in the last eight of the competition.
