Serena Williams has made it through to the semi-finals of Wimbledon, despite dropping her first set of this year's championship in a 3-6 6-3 6-4 victory over Camila Giorgi.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion had to recover from a set behind against her hard-hitting opponent to remain on course for an eighth crown at SW19.
Giorgi delivered three aces in the opening set and broke Williams's serve in the sixth game to edge in front, but she was unable to see things through.
Williams did not give the world number 52 any break points in the second set, with a break of her own in the fourth game allowing the American to push on and level things up.
The decider then went in Williams's favour, as she sent a backhand down the line to break in the third game and went on to seal victory with her first match point at the end of a contest that lasted just over 100 minutes.
