Team England weightlifter Zoe Smith has won the silver medal in the women's 63kg category at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The 23-year-old had moved up a weight division after winning gold in the 58kg class in Glasgow four years ago, but she was comfortably second best to Canada's Maude Charron in today's final on the Gold Coast.
Smith was successful with all six of her attempts across the board, recording 92kg for the snatch and 115kg in the clean and jerk.
It was her performance in the snatch which ultimately sealed her the silver medal, finishing just one kilogram ahead of South African Mona Pretorius, who matched her on the clean and jerk.
Both were some way clear of fourth place in the battle for a place on the podium, but they were also a long way adrift of Charron, who stole the show with victory by 13kg.
The Canadian broke the clean and jerk Games record which had stood for 12 years along the way, succeeding with a 122kg lift to add to her competition-best 98kg snatch.
