French biathlete Martin Fourcade has said that he is delighted to have won gold in the men's individual 20km pursuit at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The 25-year-old finished the race in a time of 49:31.7 on Thursday, picking up only one penalty on the way.
"I just love the individual event," he told Sport-Express. "Today I am as happy as I was after my win in the pursuit a couple of days ago.
"Have I made history? I never compared myself with [seven-time Olympic champion Ole Einar] Bjoerndalen. I just want to have fun and make my team happy."
Germany's Erik Lesser won the silver medal in the event, while Evgeniy Garanichev of Russia claimed bronze.
