The 25-year-old, who also won the men's 12km pursuit on Monday, completed his race in a time of 49:31.7 and suffered just one penalty on his way to the finish line.
Germany's Erik Lesser took the silver medal at the Laura Biathlon & Ski Complex, while Evgeniy Garanichev secured bronze for the Russian Federation.
Norwegian biathlon veteran Ole Einar Bjorndalen was unable to win a record 13th Winter Olympic medal after finishing in 34th place, while Great Britain's Lee Jackson secured 42nd place, an improvement on his 66th-placed finish from the Vancouver Games four years ago.
