Two British female bobsleigh athletes have suffered injuries after being involved in a crash during training ahead of the British Bobsleigh Championships in Germany this weekend.
The pair were rushed to hospital after the accident, with Shone undergoing spinal surgery and her British teammate Harrison sustaining head injuries.
British Bobsleigh performance director Gary Anderson said in a statement: "I can confirm that two of British Bobsleigh's development athletes were in a training accident in Germany last night.
"Both athletes are currently receiving medical attention in hospital in Germany and their families have been informed.
"My focus is now on the two athletes concerned, and their families, and I won't be making any further comment at this stage."
Shone is believed to be in a stable condition whereas Harrison is being closely observed in hospital.
