Russian figure skater Adelina Sotnikova has said that she was determined to win a medal at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
The 17-year-old became her country's first ever gold medallist in the Olympics in ladies' figure skating on Thursday.
"[I was determined] to win a medal in the individual program at any cost," the teenager told Russia Today.
"I set a goal. It was very hard. But I prepared really well."
Russia have won 26 medals in Sochi so far.
