Russian figure skater Maxim Trankov has said that he enjoyed his first day in Sochi's Iceberg arena.
The 30-year-old helped his country take the lead in the inaugural figure skating team event at the Winter Olympics after Thursday's round with his performance in the pairs with Tatiana Volosozhar.
"We like skating in Sochi," he told Sport-Express. "It's one of our favourite Russian cities.
"It's warm here in the street and on the rink. And our fans support us. We perform here with pleasure and we'll try to keep doing it as good as possible."
Canada and China are currently second and third respectively in the standings.
