Team GB bobsleigh team leader Gary Anderson believes that Andrew Matthews will be an able replacement for Craig Pickering at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Matthews has been drafted into Great Britain's four-man team in place of Pickering, who had to pull out of the Sochi Games with a back injury.
"We selected Andy as our P accredited athlete back in January because he is an incredibly versatile bobsleigh athlete," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.
"We knew that if the team was troubled by injury Andy would be able to step up.
"Andy has considerable World Cup experience and I am confident he'll do a fantastic job for the team here in Sochi."
Britain have won four medals in Sochi so far.
