Great Britain have named Andrew Matthews as Craig Pickering's replacement in their four-man bobsleigh team for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Pickering had to pull out of the Sochi Games with a back injury, and his place will now be taken up by the brakeman, who was named as the official reserve (P accredited) athlete last month.
"Up until yesterday I didn't know whether I was going to be pushing in GBR2 or not," he told Team GB's official website. "It is never nice to replace an injured teammate and I am wishing Craig a speedy recovery.
"I have a job to do and I am looking forward to competing against the best athletes in the world and making my Olympic debut for Team GB. I came to Sochi as a P accredited athlete and was making the most of my time here by soaking up the atmosphere.
"However, as competition started and I watched Lamin [Deen] and John [Baines] compete in the two-man event it made me hungry and I wanted more than ever to make it onto the start line."
Team GB have won four medals in Sochi so far.
