The USA's speedskating team has opted to dump the suits that had been touted as the fastest in the world.
America's decision to move away from the Under Armour super suits comes following their disappointing start to competition at the Sochi Winter Olympics.
Team USA had entered the Games high on optimism and believing that their new uniforms would give them an edge on the ice, but they have yet to finish higher than seventh in the first six events.
Permission has now been granted for the team to wear an earlier version of the suits.
"For the remainder of the Winter Olympic Games, Team USA speedskaters will be wearing the previously-approved Under Armour skin suits used during recent World Cup competition," US speedskating president Mike Plant said in a statement.
The final of the ladies 1500m event will be contested later today.
