A Russian official in charge of preparations for the Winter Olympics in Sochi is reported to have revealed that some hotels have video surveillance in their bathrooms.
Dmitry Kozak is thought to have made comments relating to cameras pointing at the showers during a press conference in the Russian resort earlier today.
"We have surveillance video from the hotels that shows people turn on the shower, direct the nozzle at the wall and then leave the room for the whole day," the official told members of the press, according to The Wall Street Journal.
A government aide is thought to have quickly diverted the conversation and prevented any follow-up questions concerning bathroom video surveillance.
Kozak was earlier reported to have made comments in relation to gay athletes, telling them to "leave the kids alone".
