WWE superstar Roman Reigns is likely to be absent from the ring for "several months" after he underwent emergency hernia surgery.
Reigns had been due to face Seth Rollins at last weekend's Night of Champions pay-per-view, but the 29-year-old was rushed to hospital at the weekend before undergoing the procedure.
It was initially believed that the former Shield member would miss a maximum of six weeks of action, but it has been announced that Reigns isn't due back until the turn of the year.
Reigns is considered as one of the emerging stars in the company and his injury is a blow to WWE as they look to improve slumping television ratings for RAW in the United States.
