With Wrestlemania XXX just three days away, Sports Mole takes a look back at what transpired at the annual pay-per-view between 2009 and 2013.

This Sunday will see the 30th staging of Wrestlemania, which is being held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Sports Mole has celebrated the milestone by taking a look back at previous events and the moments that helped shape what is now a global phenomenon.

We have so far cast our nostalgic minds back over the first 24 shows, and now it is time to focus on the most recent editions that have occurred over the past five years.

Wrestlemania XXV

The Reliant Stadium in Houston was the setting for the 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania as Shawn Michaels became the latest man to try to break 'The Streak' of The Undertaker.

The legendary pair had previously met on a number of occasions but never on the "grandest stage of them all" and their showdown in Texas is widely regarded as one of the greatest matches in the history of Wrestlemania.

The conclusion came when Michaels was caught by 'Taker when attempting a moonsault, and 'The Phenom' secured the pinfall with a tombstone to extend his unbeaten record at the event to 17 bouts.

Elsewhere on the card, Triple H defended the WWE title against Randy Orton, John Cena captured the World Heavyweight Championship in a triple-threat encounter with Edge and Big Show and CM Punk won the 'Money in the Bank' ladder match.

Wrestlemania XXVI

After their epic confrontation 12 months earlier, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels went toe to toe for a second time, with Michaels's career on the line as he made a second effort to try to end 'The Streak'.

The back-and-forth contest kept the Phoenix crowd on the edge of their seats, but despite surviving two Tombstones, Michaels couldn't kick out of a third as the career of 'Mr Wrestlemania' was brought to an end.

John Cena successfully dethroned Batista for the WWE title, while Chris Jericho got the better of Edge to defend the World Heavyweight title.

Bret Hart returned to the company to gain revenge on Vince McMahon, while Triple H and Rey Mysterio earned singles' triumphs over Sheamus and CM Punk respectively.

Wrestlemania XXVII

Wrestlemania XXVII saw The Rock return to the WWE to host the event that took place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, and his appearance laid the foundations for his future encounters with John Cena.

'The People's Champion', who had been on the end of an Attitude Adjustment from Cena on RAW, delivered a Rock Bottom to the challenger to allow The Miz to defend his WWE title, before The Rock ended the night on top after attacking Miz.

The Undertaker was pushed all the way by Triple H before executing his Hells' Gate submission hold to extend his unbeaten record, with Michael Cole beat Jerry Lawler in a match refereed by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The night also proved to be the setting for the last bout of the Edge who, after defeating Alberto Del Rio, was forced to retire due to a serious neck injury.

Wrestlemania XXVIII

The main event of Wrestlemania XXVIII was billed 'Once in a Lifetime' as The Rock faced John Cena in front of his home fans in Miami.

In a match that lasted over 30 minutes, The Rock capitalised on Cena's attempt at a People's Elbow to pick up the pinfall over his crestfallen opponent.

Elsewhere on the card, The Undertaker earned a second successive victory over Triple H in an encounter that was refereed by Shawn Michaels inside the Hell in a Cell structure.

Sheamus recorded a success over Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds to win the World Heavyweight Championship, while CM Punk defended the WWE title against Chris Jericho.

Wrestlemania XXIX

After winning the Royal Rumble in January, John Cena was given the chance of redemption against The Rock, who had ended CM Punk's 434-day reign as WWE champion at the same pay-per-view.

The match failed to live up to their first contest, but Cena levelled the score against his rival by delivering a third Attitude Adjustment to win the WWE title from his opponent, who suffered several legitimate injuries towards the end of the bout.

Triple H made amends for his earlier defeat at Summerslam by pinning Brock Lesnar, while CM Punk failed in his efforts to become the first man to beat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania after succumbing to a Tombstone piledriver.

Alberto Del Rio defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Jack Swagger and The Shield marked their Wrestlemania debut with a win over Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show in a six-man tag match.
